A Coordinated Restaurant Interior Built from Three Original Lighting Concepts
At Earls Glenarm, Denver, three separate lighting concepts cover three rooms: a swivel fixture over the bar, inverted tube pendants in the dining room, and wagon wheel chandeliers in the banquet space.
None of them existed as standard parts. Each concept needed its own fabrication solution before it could go into production. We worked with the Earls Design Team and a local lighting designer to take each concept from sketch to buildable fixture.
Brass and Steel Swivel Lighting Fixture
The bar’s brass and steel concept centred on a swivel pendant light fixture, which is built around exposed lamps. The swivel itself didn’t exist as a standard component, so we designed and manufactured an original one. Since brass is one of the more difficult materials to fabricate with, it shaped how the swivel had to be engineered.
The resulting fixture is installed as a row above the bar; it lets each lamp tilt to its own angle while staying connected to the same steel structure overhead.
Inverted Vertical Tube Pendant Lighting
The main dining room uses ten inverted vertical tube pendant lights, each built with five lamps. Every lamp holds two T8 incandescent showcase bulbs installed vertically, which is not a standard socket arrangement. So, we developed a custom lamp holder to secure both bulbs within the black frame.
The pendant lights are suspended at three different elevations. This varies the composition within each fixture while keeping a consistent pattern across the dining room.
Modern Black Wagon Wheel Chandeliers
Finally, large wagon wheel chandeliers were fabricated for the banquet room. Each one is a wide black ring with downlit bulbs around it, hung from multiple points instead of one center drop. Repeated throughout the room, these modern black wagon wheel chandeliers spread light evenly across the banquet tables.
