Bronze Sculpture and Glowing Glass Spheres Come Together Overhead
This residential project started with sculpture, not just a conventional chandelier.
Marie Khouri’s bronze forms became the foundation for Spheres, a collaboration with Maurice Dery from team Karice. For this private residence, we brought that idea into a custom chandelier composition where the artwork and illumination are experienced together.
Hand-blown glass globes introduce points of light within the bronze sculpture. Because Khouri hand-finished each bronze piece, no two forms are exactly alike. This is a quality that carries through to the finished glass globe chandelier.
The mix of irregular bronze forms and glowing spherical pendant lights gives this installation its character. The bronze sculpture and illuminated glass globes come together as one integrated chandelier.
