Sprocket and Chain

We wanted to create an epic project to reflect the culmination of our 23 years in business as an artisan manufacturer in the architectural metal and custom lighting industries. This has been realized in The Sprocket: a 10-ft by 10-ft LED chandelier.

Suspended by aircraft cables, The Sprocket appears to be floating in mid-air. As you’ll notice, there are no power cables or visible fasteners. It’s been designed to hide all ‘visual pollution’ to give the highest aesthetic quality.

The entire fixture is made to scale: in other words, it is actually a functioning gear. The inner 5-ft diameter steel sprocket was meticulously crafted to not only interlock with the chain but to have a finish that reflects the true “wear-and-tear” of a real sprocket.

Time

In April 2016, Kalu Interiors approached us to help them collaborate on their dinner scape for the 2016 Dinner by Design show in Vancouver, BC. Kalu’s theme for this years show was “Alice In Wonderland”. Karice couldn’t be more thrilled to travel down the rabbit hole with Kalu, to help bring their vision to life.

TIME is not only a functioning light, it is all about design. The light is an intricate balance of gears, springs, pins and rubies (lights) as an exploded view of the inner workings of a clock.

Our newest piece “TIME” is illuminated with the newest in LED COB technology, using the lights to simulate the ruby jewels found in a clock.

Da Vinci – Leonardo 1482

The Leonardo 1482 poetically resembles a rising sun, borrowing heavily from Renaissance-era mechanics, and is appropriately named for the year Leonardo Da Vinci began designing and developing his inventions.

The Da Vinci Collection is based on the challenging premise of using modern technology to create an original avant-garde suite of luminaire pieces that accurately portray the spirit of what Leonardo was doing in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Specifically, the objective was to reflect the mechanics of Da Vinci, and to reflect his approach in magnifying and projecting light.

The new edition of this beautiful lighting series is made using genuine brass pieces that are antiques to reflect an old age vintage for that era.

In the fashion of Leonardo da Vinci, the theme revolves around machine gears, along with magnifiers to direct the light onto mirrors. Eight wheels with cogs, move simultaneously, via a pull on the brass chain to redirect the light onto the wall or floor.

As with all Karice product, all lights are handcrafted in our facility in South Surrey.
This new lighting design is available as part of a collection of five pieces that includes the main chandelier, a wall sconce, two table lamps and a multiple lamp pendant/chandelier.

The Bloom Collection is based on an artists interpretation of a floral arrangement. Using brass and hand blown glass. Each piece is unique and individual. No two lights will be alike.

The new edition of this beautiful lighting series is made using genuine and hand blown glass.

The petals of bloom are cut with precision. Each is hand formed and heat treated to create individual beauty.

Equipped with the newest in LED technology the light engine uses a dim-to-warm COB. The range of color temperature output is 1800k to 3000k, enabling one to set the mood for the room.

As with the fashion of Karice Lighting, we are determined to present unique one of a kind fixtures that will create timeless beauty in the home or office or where ever one want to create visual interest of light.

The mid-century design element continues in this 8-lamp version of our Harmony Light Fixture. The lighting concept was designed for the Long Meadow Ranch in Philo California by Wilson Ishihara Design out of Sonomoa, California. Design engineered and brought to life by the team at Karice.
