A Reception Lighting Installation Built Around Geometry and Adaptability
In a Vancouver Corporate Office, the reception ceiling reads as a layered grid of illuminated rectangles. Each is suspended at its own height above the lobby floor.
Two things mattered most for this installation: how the custom pendant lighting was fabricated, and how the lighting itself could adapt to the space.
Customized Tetra Rectangular Pendant Lighting
For this project, we customized Tetra, our signature rectangular pendant designed by Maurice Dery and Jordan Dery, into multiple frame sizes suspended at different heights.
Tetra’s four-sided form and cubed corner details stayed consistent across every size. So, the grid reads as one system rather than a set of mismatched pieces. Each frame carries its own suspension point, positioned according to the ceiling layout rather than a fixed spacing pattern.
Tunable LED Illumination
A reception ceiling feature this size also has to work as everyday lighting. Each customized Tetra fixture carries a colour temperature tunable LED, adjustable from 2700K to 5000K. This range lets the frames shift from warm to cool white, matching daylight coming through the glass or the mood the space needs at a given time.
For a corporate office reception, that adjustability turns this office pendant lighting into a working fixture, not just something to look up at.
