Industrial Trough Lighting Spanning the Retail Interior
For LUSH Cosmetics, the idea started with a copper light design at their company’s UK head office. They wanted to bring that reclaimed, industrial character into new trough light fixtures, but with an LED system better suited to the store.
LUSH set the design direction; Karice developed and manufactured the fixtures around it.
We built the trough lighting from hot-rolled iron with fully welded end caps. The material and form give the pendants their industrial look. At the same time, the acrylic diffuser underneath helps soften the light and eliminate visible hot spots.
Inside the fixture, we added a dedicated tray to hold the LED lights and drivers. That kept the components organized within the long suspended form and supported the energy-efficient lighting requirement.
The first fixtures in this series were produced for LUSH’s renovated Crabtree Valley Mall store in Raleigh, North Carolina. The finished linear pendant lighting keeps the original industrial idea intact while adapting into a practical fixture for the retail environment.
