An Illuminated Vaulted Ceiling Engineered Around the Installation
The Orangery’s dramatic vaulted ceiling was envisioned as the defining architectural feature of the restaurant, creating the impression of natural daylight while enhancing the elegance of the space. Bringing that vision to life, however, presented a significant engineering challenge; there was no access above the ceiling once construction was complete.
Rather than compromising the design, Karice developed a custom ceiling system engineered specifically for the project’s installation constraints. Every structural component, lighting element, and diffuser panel was designed to be installed entirely from below while maintaining the seamless appearance envisioned by the design team.
Spanning more than 44 feet in length and over 20 feet wide, the finished installation transforms the dining experience with soft, evenly diffused illumination that accentuates the sweeping barrel vault. Karice also provided on-site installation support, working alongside the contractors to ensure every component was installed precisely as engineered.
