Straight Lines of Light Shift Across the Restaurant Ceiling
At Tractor Foods in Toronto, an exposed ceiling of ducts, piping, and structural elements runs the length of a long, open interior. This is the kind of space where lighting either ties the room together or lets it fragment into disconnected zones.ย The Karice team customized our signature Retta fixtures for this project to produce a shifting composition of straight illuminated lines to do the former.
In practice, the linear suspension lighting we fabricated moves in different directions across the exposed ceiling: some fixtures run parallel, while others cross at sharp angles. Rather than repeating one fixed pattern down its length, that variation lets the lighting respond to the space as it changes.
Across the dining, service, and circulation areas, this commercial linear pendant lighting provides the restaurant’s primary overhead illumination while carrying a consistent visual language from one zone to the next.
