Custom Lighting Statements Shaping a Multi-Zone Restaurant Interior
Earls in Lincoln Square, Bellevue needed custom lighting and metalwork across three very different zones: the dining room, the entrance, and the central bar area. We worked from concepts by the Earls Design Team, and each zone asked for something different.
The dining area needed warmth and repetition. The entrance needed a feature that would catch your eye from the street. And the space above the bar needed structure and scale worked out above a dense field of glass. Same restaurant. Different technical demands.
Modern Wagon Wheel Chandeliers for the Dining Area
For the dining area, we built three wagon wheel pendants with a powder-coated black finish. Each one carries twenty-four down-lit A15 bulbs.
The black finish lets the lamps carry the visual weight. And the frame ties back to the darker details throughout the space.
Chrome Donut Chandelier for the Entrance
The entrance chandelier was a compact fixture with a strong visual purpose. We built a chrome donut chandelier, 4 feet across, with a flat ring profile. Sixty-eight S6 bulbs line the inner and outer edges, throwing a concentrated band of light straight through the front glazing.
It works from two directions. From the street, it’s a lighting feature people notice before they even walk in. From inside, that same chrome finish and exposed bulb layout give the entrance a clean, polished glow.
Custom Lighting Canopy for Bocci Pendants
The pendant canopy was the largest lighting support system in the project. We custom-engineered a 12.5-foot by 27.5-foot metal canopy to suspend 141 Bocci 14 pendants. The Bocci pendants created the field of glowing glass points. Our work focused on the canopy, structure, suspension, and central electrical connection needed to make the installation buildable.
At this scale, the canopy had to do more than carry pendant drops. It had to organize the layout, support the wiring strategy, and keep the pendant cluster aligned as one finished ceiling element.
Custom Metalwork for the Restaurant Interior
Beyond the lighting, our team also fabricated several custom metalwork elements for the restaurant.
The aluminum wine wall was built with 3,000 ¾-inch round pegs projecting from the face of the wall. We also made a rolling ladder so staff could move efficiently around the corner and access the full storage area. For the washroom signage, the letters were waterjet cut from ½-inch aluminum and given a brushed finish. We also manufactured custom coat racks, door pulls, and fourteen metal screens for the dining area using waterjet cutting, welding, and powder coating.
Together, the lighting and metalwork gave the restaurant a consistent fabricated language: detailed, functional, and built around the way the space is actually used.
